Heralding a new era of collaboration on academic, research and training programs an MoU was signed today, the 7th of May, 2019 between the Geological Survey of India Training Institute (under Ministry of Mines, Govt. of India), Hyderabad and Gauhati University, Guwahati, in presence of Dr. Mridul Hazarika, Vice Chancellor, GU and other dignitaries both from GSI and GU.

Sri Ch. Venkateswara Rao, Deputy Director General and Head, GSI Training Institute, Hyderabad signed the MoU on behalf of GSI while Prof. Nani Gopal Mahanta, Registrar (i/c), signed on behalf of Gauhati University. The institutional collaboration will be beneficial for both teaching and research in the Department of Geological Sciences, GU and in carrying out multidisciplinary research involving several other departments as well.
