Biodiversity in the Gauhati University Campus

Flowers (this page)         Birds & Insects

The university campus is located at the south bank the river Brahmaputra near the Saraighat Bridge. Like any other part of Assam and the Northeast, the Campus is full of biodiversity right from usual species of trees, flowers, animals to exotic migratory birds. Following are some seasonal flowers that usually transform the campus virtually to flower garden at different times of the year.

All the photographs in this section is taken by Mr Bipul Bordoloi from Department of Botany. Mr Bordoloi works as a Laboratory Assistant in the Botany Department and is a photography enthusiast. He also had his photo exhibition in the past.
