Syllabi : Instructions to CCS

Traditional / Existing Subjects

1. The CCSs of the Departments are to prepare the syllabi ONLY for the Core Papers i.e. papers which will constitute either a Major or a Minor. All other syllabi i.e. syllabi for AEC, VAC, SEC, and Multi-Disciplinary courses belonging to the Common Courses will be handled separately by specialized working groups (see at https://web.gauhati.ac.in/nep/groups).

2. Kindly try to upload the syllabi by 3rd week of March 2023 positively, so that we have enough time to organise them centrally.

3. All syllabi are to be uploaded using the upload facility at https://web.gauhati.ac.in/nep/upload. Kindly do not mail your syllabus / syllabi to us (or to anybody). Kindly also refrain from submitting a hard copy.

4. You can either offer papers for Major (minimum 15 papers) or for Minor (minimum 3 papers).

5. Please do not forget to mention the required prerequisites while uploading such as - for majoring in subject A, subject B has to be one of the minors or for this paper, Class XII level math is required.

Interdisciplinary / New Subjects

If your department alone or with other departments want to offer an interdisciplinary course (leading to Major or Minor papers) you can do that. Kindly note the following:

1. You can either offer papers for Major (minimum 15 papers) or for Minor (minimum 3 papers).

2. If you already have a CCS taking care of multi-departmental subjects, kindly inform us by a return mail to iqac@gauhati.ac.in, so that we can include the CCS in the database.

3. If you do not have a CCS, kindly email to iqac@gauhati.ac.in  suggesting the composition of the CCS, so that we can form the same and place it in the Faculty Meetings for approval.
